How do I organise a Horse removal from private land?
In order to ensure that the horses are removed as quickly as possible for their welfare and protect your land you should:
- Call the local police station number and provide them a description of the horse. It may have just wandered off or even been stolen and reported missing.
- You will need to place abandonment notices in appropriate places where they can easily be seen. The owner has just four days to collect the horse.
- In the rare case of the horse not being reclaimed within the four days, we will supervise the collection of the animals by an Equine Collection team. Once the team has possession of the horses they will look after the horses for a short period of time before selling the horse.
